SALVIA medical is one of the world's leading technology providers of devices for clinical ventilation and respiratory therapy. We develop and produce patient-friendly solutions. The highest priorities of our work are to ensure optimal treatment outcomes, simple and fail-proof operation, and maximum comfort for patients and staff.
Salvia was founded in the 1950s as a company for complex measurement and control technology solutions for sophisticated industrial applications. Very soon, the company was bought up by the pharmaceutical industry and initially produced operation and control systems for dialysis devices. By expanding with its own R&D department, complete dialysis devices and hemofiltration systems were developed and produced. In course of the pharmaceutical industry focussing on the core business, the company was spun off as ‘Salvia Regel- und Medizintechnik GmbH’ and finally in 1993 to ‘Salvia Lifetec Geräte für Medizintechnik GmbH & Co. KG’. The synchronization of patients and machines was given a higher priority as intensive care ventilation increasingly became a standard medical procedure. The company had the control technology expertise to develop optimal solutions for the ventilation of patients. This opened up a new business area, which would ultimately become our exclusive specialization: Ventilation devices for clinical ventilation and respiratory therapy in application areas such as ICUs, IMCs, emergency rooms, anesthesia, general care units, and in home care. In course of the reorientation and advancement of the brand Salvia the name was changed in September 2013 from Salvia Lifetec to SALVIA medical®.
The name SALVIA medical has always stood for targeted innovation to benefit customers and patients alike. Our products represent milestones in the history of intensive care medicine, for example the pediatric intensive care ventilator Beta 160, the anesthesia ventilator Cirrus Transvent, the intensive care ventilator centiva, the respiratory therapy devices Inhalog 1 and alpha 101, or the CPAP device F120. The range of applied technologies includes state-of-the-art processes as well as devices for all modes of application. Our portfolio includes neonatal ventilators, anesthesia ventilators as well as ventilation and respiratory therapy devices for intensive care. This is our current product range in detail:
As an OEM partner, SALVIA medical develops and produces ventilators and respiratory therapy devices for major global medical technology corporations. However, devices sold under the company's own name play an increasingly important role in the German and Asian market as well as in India. Nevertheless, SALVIA medical is and will remain "made in Germany." We are fully committed to our business location in Germany that supports our company's strengths: our pooled scientific and technological research and development expertise as well as production quality that meets the highest standards.
For us at SALVIA medical, quality is not limited to meeting the strict requirements of DIN EN ISO 13485 or being certified in accordance with Annex II, Section 3 of the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC.
Rather, quality is a fundamental component of our company and our daily work and it's not limited to our ventilations solutions. We not only understand quality as an internal company value, but also work to communicate it outside of our enterprise. For this reason, some of our key employees belong to the DIN standard committee, which defines the globally recognized German quality standards.
Our goal is to achieve the seemingly impossible: Breathing like nature – in spite of clinical ventilation. We develop and produce ventilation devices that are gentle on patients, allow for lung protection, and reduce complications. We understand the associated technology down to the most minute details. Building on our extensive expertise in this area, we are ideally positioned to lead the way to further advancements in ventilation technology.
Thanks to our superior know-how, consistent innovation, and continuous quality assurance, our products are always at the top of their corresponding segments. They are reliable, easy to use, and provide users with simple options for finding optimal ventilation settings for each patient. These strengths benefit the SALVIA medical® brand as much as our OEM partners.
Our success is based on the interdisciplinary knowledge, skill, and creativity of our employees. We are a perfectly matched team of people of different age groups, heterogeneous qualifications, and sociocultural backgrounds that has great passion for our field.
Our daily work is driven by the responsibility for the well-being of patients. The utmost care is of course taken in all processes and activities. Any product-related development is based on a combination of current scientific evidence and technological advances. Consequently, we not only set out to solve known problems, but also regularly question accepted solutions.
Our expertise and culture of quality was built in Germany, where the core of our employees maintains their home. We are fully committed to Germany as our business location and see it as the basis of our long-term economic success. Our strengths and technology leadership in the industry form a solid foundation of our company's long-term, healthy growth.
In addition to our own products that are marketed under the SALVIA medical brand name, we have been dedicated to implementing the ideas of renowned business partners for over 50 years. We develop and manufacture state-of-the-art medical equipment on their behalf that undergoes all work steps in our company in the sense of a turnkey solution before entering serial production. SALVIA medical offers a full-service package that includes everything from system-relevant software to technical support for end users and is characterized by its transparency and customer involvement in every development stage.
This partnership continues after the completion of the product. To give an example, the service package of SALVIA medical also includes user training, technical support, and maintenance and repair of devices.
Our company develops sophisticated medical devices, from feasibility studies to readiness for serial production and also manufactures these products. We are one of the world's leading technology providers in our specialization. The cornerstones of our success include technical skill, creativity, responsibility, and innovation. As a growing, mid-sized company, SALVIA medical offers interested and motivated employees outstanding career perspectives and secure employment opportunities in an attractive environment.
Our work builds on our experience of over 50 years and lives by the expertise and creativity of our employees.
Then we look forward to meeting you!
